Critical Time to Help Those in Need
Posted by on Friday, November 12th, 2010 at 8:24pm.
Last night, my 6-year-old son and I joined his Cub Scout troop at the Jeffco Action Center to fill Thanksgiving food boxes for those in need. It was great to see the boys working hard to help others, and at the end of the night, they had filled boxes for 650 families. Unfortunately, we had to stop filling boxes when the supplies starting running low. We were told that donations have been slow, so they will just have to wait and hope donors step in soon so they can finish more boxes. Then today, The Denver Post reported that turkey donations for Rescue Mission are down (article link below). The reality is there are more people in need in our community than there have been in years, yet donations are fewer and further between. Join us in committing to shaving a few extra bucks from our own budgets and make a donation of a turkey or some canned goods this holiday season. Feel free to come back and post how you were able to help! Thanks for reading…
