Great Denver Neighborhoods
Posted by Metropolitan Group on Wednesday, February 17th, 2010 at 8:19pm.One of the questions we get asked a lot is “what are the hot or up and coming neighborhoods in Denver?” Many prospective home buyers are looking for very specific things that appeal to them in the downtown area. Here are some questions you might want to ask yourself to help narrow down your search. Here are some of the most popular neighborhoods that home buyers are looking at in the Denver area: The Historic Baker Neighborhood One of the oldest neighborhoods in the Denver area, the Baker Neighborhood is one of those great locations with a lot of charm and walkability. The 19th century brick, Victorian architecture and multiple homes designed by William Lang, the Baker area is home to young professionals and first time home buyers. With several bus stops and two Lightrail locations, the area is easily accessible to work and shopping. Lower Highland Neighborhood Adjacent to the Riverfront Park, the LoHi Neighborhood, is rapidly becoming one of the trendiest locations to buy in Denver. With a unique mix of old and new architecture, LoHi has an eclectic blend of culture and inhabitants. The area keeps residents occupied with easy a convenient stroll to coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, shopping and nightlife. And when you’re ready for a night on the town, LoHi is connected by the architecturally dramatic Denver Millenium Bridge, to the 16th Street Mall and Commons Park in Downtown Denver. Curtis Park This classic historic neighborhood, built primarily in the 1860s and 1870s is located just north of Downtown Denver. One of the first things you’ll notice about Curtis Park is that the homes cater to a variety of people and incomes where renovated turn of the century mansions, single story duplexes and Denver Square brick homes exist in harmony. If accessibility is one of your main criteria in choosing a neighborhood, this wonderful old part of the city is one of the most easily reached neighborhoods for those who work and shop downtown. Santa Fe Art District Known for the First Friday Art Walk held every month, where local art galleries entice viewers to share in some of the most cutting edge art in Denver, the Santa Fe Art District Neighborhood has the largest concentration of art galleries in Denver. With more than 40 galleries, independent shops, theaters and restaurants, this neighborhood is only minutes from the heart of downtown. River North aka RiNo The River North Neighborhood-affectionately known to locals as RiNo, (yes, pronounced like that large herbivorous beast the “rhino”), is one of the fastest growing areas in northern downtown Denver. Where old warehouses have been transformed into distinctive lofts and workspaces, RiNo is home to creative businesses, artists and professionals alike.
